Meet Maggie

A lifelong explorer and advocate for community, connection, and adventure, Maggie Merritt founded Crescendo Travel to bring women on journeys that awaken inspiration, purpose, and joy.

With a background in public policy focused on women’s and children’s well-being, Maggie has always believed in the power of connection. Now, she channels that passion into travel—creating experiences that are more than just trips, but opportunities to engage with the wisdom of cultures that have preserved the sacred traditions of community, ritual, and shared stories.

Through Crescendo Travel, she invites women to step into adventure—immersing in vibrant cultures, exploring breathtaking landscapes, and gathering in the spirit of learning, laughter, and deep connection. Each journey is an opportunity to return home enriched—with new perspectives, renewed energy, and a profound sense of belonging.

This trip was planned meticulously! The whale watching, wine tasting, safari drives, cooking class, and other cultural experiences - made every day a new adventure to look forward to. Our guides were native to South Africa and genuinely enhanced our experience with the depth of their knowledge about the culture, flora and fauna. Many of the women on our tour did not know each other, but Maggie created a culture that made all of us feel like we were connected. I can’t wait to take another trip with Crescendo!

Crescendo was created out of my love of travel and my passion for learning about different cultures. I adore being with the women in my life and I thought I’d combine the two and make a few dreams come true!
